Bienvenue!

A ceremony was held on the Pollet River on October 13 to provide a traditional blessing and celebrate the efforts of the Fort Folly Habitat Recovery Program and their partners i restoring Atlantic salmon to the Pollett River.

For over 20 years, Fort Folly First Nation's Habitat Recovery program has been a leader in the recovery of the Inner Bay of Fundy's endangered Atlantic salmon populations.  Their dedication and work is known around the world in the Atlantic salmon conservation community and has been formally recognized through their presentation of the Lieutenant Governor's Award for Wild Atlantic Salmon Conservation and by the North Atlantic Salmon Conservation Organization.

In collaboration with Parks Canada and other federal and provincial government agencies, Cooke Aquaculture, the Atlantic Canada Fish Farmers Association, the Petitcodiac Sportsman's Club and numerous volunteers, their work this year culminated the release of approximately 800 adult salmon into the river to spawn naturally and contribute to the restoration of the Petitcodiac's Atlantic salmon population.
